otherBenedictine spirituality having been long associated with respect for the local environment and appreciation of God?s work in nature, we have set aside a couple of acres as a Quiet Garden, available to anybody prepared to encounter God through prayer and reflection on nature and creation.

Worth Abbey is set in beautiful countryside South of London and is near Gatwick Airport. It was founded from Downside Abbey in 1933 and has been an independent community since 1957. The Abbey Church is one of the finest modern churches in Britain and is a centre of liturgical activity. The community of 20 monks is responsible for a secondary school for boys, a Centre for Spirituality and the local parish, while some monks work locally with refugees and the sick. Male guests are welcome in the monastery and there is a programme of retreats open to all through the Centre for Spirituality.
