Founded in China in 1929 by the Abbey of Sint Andries Zevenkerken, the Benedictine community of St. Andrew's was transferred to California in 1956. The principal apostolate of the monastery is hospitality through the Retreat House and Youth Retreat Center. The monks offer retreats and workshops, assist at local parishes and chaplaincies, and teach at the diocesan seminary.
