The "Regina Coeli"-abbey was founded in 1899 by the abbey of Maredsous and is constructed on a hill ("Keizersberg")at the nordwest side of the university town Leuven, the location where once stood the castle of the Duke of Brabant.
A part of the abbeybuildings is made into a residence for universitystudents.
